What about self-publishing?

I was inspired to write my self-publishing book My Vampire, My King from a dream I had with vampires.  I wrote down the details of my dream then slowly started to build the story from it.    My book is a paranormal erotica romance.  The story is about the struggle Elena has between doing the right thing for her family’s safety and the love for a stranger (Bash).  At the end she finds out was the Vampire King. The story has passion, secrets, intrigue and action.  The five things I learned from self-publishing were to make a good connection with the self-publishing representative; to ask questions through the entire publishing process; to be honest about what I want it from the publishing company; to reach out to the publishing company when I need help with the process, and to think through each decision/step you take in the process.
The best thing about self-publishing is that you have control over every aspect of the publishing process of your book.  I definitely recommend self-publishing for anyone that’s ready to share their book.  My favorite social media outlet to market/promote my book is Facebook.  I find it much easier to work with than the other ones.  My advice to aspiring authors is to keep writing, to never give up on your dream, and if possible take the chance and publish your book.
